C. A. G. E. Assessment

The CAGE Assessment is a useful tool to establish if a persons drinking level is becoming problematic. It centres on four questions:

Have you ever felt that you should CUT down on your use of alcohol ?
Have you ever felt ANNOYED by other peoples comments about your alcohol use?
Have you ever felt GUILTY about your use of alcohol?
Have you ever used alcohol first thing in the morning as an EYE OPENER to calm / steady you?

If you can answer YES to any of these questions, though it doesn't immediately indicate a problem, it may be worth taking some time to seek more information and / or support.
